Shield
The shield is red for Artillery; the pile represents a searchlight beam and refers to the antiaircraft operations of the Regiment. The quarter is taken from the coat of arms of the 205th Infantry Regiment, Minnesota Army National Guard, from which organization the 215th Coast Artillery descended.
Crest
The crest is that of the Minnesota Army National Guard.
The coat of arms was originally approved for the 215th Coast Artillery Regiment on 9 February 1942. It was redesignated for the 94th Cavalry Regiment on 20 September 1963. The insignia was amended to change the motto on 26 June 1964. It was redesignated for the 94th Armor Regiment on 20 February 1973. It was redesignated for the 94th Cavalry Regiment on 4 September 2008.
